Dave and Jan's travels:
Long days

Another thing I couldn't get used to was the lack of darkness.  I constantly got disoriented thinking that it was mid afternoon when it was 10pm and it didn't seem right to go to bed in such bright light.  It could be great I think if I got use to it - although the winters must be terrible.  Apparently, sunlight stimulates a hormone which makes you happy.  Without sunlight, it is likely that you will be miserable and sleep more.  Which apparently is what happens in Alaska in winter.
